This photograph shows two ice houses belonging to the H.P. Miles Ice Company. The photograph is taken from across Kenwood Street. There is a dirt driveway leading up from Kenwood Street to the ice houses; one is located on the right of the driveway and the other on the left. In front of the ice house on the left is a two story residential style house with a raised basement and two chimneys. Two horses are hitched to a flat bed wagon outside of the ice house on the left. Wooden boards litter the lawn in front of the house, along with the remains of what might be fence posts. Two signs are hung on a tree located to the right of the dirt driveway. The first reads, "H.P. Miles Ice Comanpy", and the second reads, "For Rent, Ten Eyck T. Mosher & Co. Realtors, 128 State St." A utility pole stands at the end of the driveway, with a street lamp located in the middle of the pole.
